Iveco, a company of the Fiat Industrial Group, will be present with a wide range of vehicles at Intermat, the International Exhibition for the quarry and construction sectors, that will be taking place in Paris from the 16th to the 21st April 2012 at the Parc des Exposition in Paris-Nord Villepinte.
The Iveco stand, set up in hall 5A, is located inside an exhibition area of 3,600 m2, entirely dedicated to the Fiat Industrial Group, which will be in Paris with its three business branches, CNH, Iveco and FPT Industrial, which are represented by the brands Iveco, Astra, Case, New Holland and FPT Industrial. The area, which will host Iveco range vehicles, in addition to New Holland earth moving machinery and FPT Industrials' motors, will be reminiscent of the Fiat Industrial Village, Fiat Industrials' first multi-purpose centre in the world which was opened last September in Turin.
As in Turin, visitors will be able to go on a journey of discovery through the brands and products of the Fiat Industrial Group, coming into close contact with the technological excellence testified by the vehicles presented here.
The real star of the Iveco Stand at Intermat is the Trakker, a vehicle designed to work on any kind of terrain, that obtained an extraordinary success at the beginning of the year on the dirt tracks of Latin America, during the Dakar 2012. Taking part in one of the most important rallies in the world enabled Iveco to test all its technologies and innovations in extreme conditions, achieving extraordinary results in terms of reliability and performance.
The vehicles that took part in the competition, adapted to cope with the extreme environmental conditions of the rally, were all production models and optimized for best-in-class energy efficiency.
Thanks to the experience acquired on the toughest terrains and in the most extreme conditions found in South America, Iveco will produce 502 limited edition vehicles which it will distribute worldwide, starting at the Paris Motor Show. It is a Limited Edition, inspired by the success obtained in the Dakar 2012: this success is testified by the presence of the Trakker Evolution 2, the vehicle which competed in South America driven by the two times world rally champion Miki Biasion.
The Astra brand will also be a focus of attention on the Iveco stand with its HD9, the new vehicle which represents the highest level of specialization for building site vehicles and heavy haulage.
Next to these vehicles, Iveco will be showing a selection of transport vehicles equipped with special features: a natural gas powered Stralis prepared for waste collection, a New Daily, here on show as an electric version with an electrically powered basket crane and a sturdy Eurocargo 4x4, fitted with a Fassi crane.
