Iveco will be exhibiting a twenty-strong line-up of vehicles at this year’s IAA Show in Hanover, displayed across a striking 4,000 sq. m. stand. The Show provides the perfect opportunity for Iveco to highlight its latest products, services and technologies and to meet with customers from across Europe.
The exhibits have been selected to demonstrate the extensive breadth of the Iveco product range and will include examples of the new Daily, launched internationally in May this year, together with the proven Eurocargo, Stralis and Trakker models. Joining Iveco’s core product range will be a number of special Iveco Magirus and Astra vehicles, together with a line-up of exhibits from Irisbus, the passenger transport division of the Iveco Group.
The Daily models on show in Hanover will each meet the stringent new Euro 4 emissions legislation and offer increases in both power and torque, with a new range-topping 176 hp model set to be a star attraction. Visitors will also get the chance to view all of Daily’s new features up-close, including the revised styling from Giugiaro, offering increased cab comfort and driving quality enhanced to levels unachieved by rivals in this class. With over 3,000 different specifications available, the new Daily appeals to a broad range of light commercial vehicle operators and is fitted with a new electrical system which has been fully redesigned for enhanced reliability and lower running costs, together with a new braking system and much, much more.
Joining the extensive Daily line-up will be a selection of Eurocargo models, which represent the benchmark commercial vehicle in the 6-19 ton GVW segment. Comprising in excess of 3,000 possible configurations from over 300 basic models, Eurocargo is a complete range of vehicles that can be mission-matched to all types of applications. It is being exhibited in Hanover for the first time with Euro 5 engines, with Iveco being one of only a handful of manufacturers to be able to supply its complete truck range in both Euro 4 and Euro 5 models.
Iveco’s heavy truck products are represented by Euro 5 examples of Stralis and Trakker, in a number of popular configurations. Both these flagship ranges feature revised gear change controls that are incorporated into the dashboard and right-hand steering column stalk, offering improved cab ergonomics and making gear changes easier for the driver. The location of the gear selector also affords a totally flat floor area of the cab, creating additional space for the driver(s) and excellent cross cab access. The new Euro 4 and Euro 5 engine line-up also sees a revised range of power options for Stralis and Trakker, with maximum power outputs of 560 hp and 450 hp respectively.
Vehicles are also on display from Iveco Astra and Iveco Magirus, with an amazing Astra ADT30c Dumper for extreme quarry-work joining Iveco’s traditional on-road line-up, together with the new Superdragon x8 airport fire-fighting vehicle.
Three of the latest vehicles from the Irisbus product range are also being exhibited, including the new Domino tour bus, which is capable of seating up to 55 passengers with all the refinement of its exterior design commissioned from Pininfarina and the luxury interior produced by Irisbus Orlandi. Joining the Domino is a new Citelis Line city/town bus, with a total capacity for 90 passengers (seating 41) and the Daily Tourys, a 19-passenger minibus inspired by the new Daily model. A further three Irisbus models will also be on show outside the main exhibition halls, including the Evadys tour bus (seating 49), the Arway public transport/tour bus vehicle (for 53 passengers) and the Access’Bus GX 127, a midibus for 63 passengers (seating 19).
Iveco’s commitment to extensive research will also be evident on its stand in Hanover as the results from two important initiatives are on display. The first of these vehicles is the “Transport Concept”, a prototype heavy-duty vehicle, consisting of a tractor unit and semi-trailer, based on the Stralis, which highlights a number of innovative vehicle solutions for increased transport efficiency.
Joining the Stralis prototype is the FIDEUS, a unique light commercial vehicle developed from the Daily CNG, as part of the European community project “Freight Innovative Delivery of Goods in European Urban Space”. The vehicle showcases innovative solutions for goods distribution in urban environments with provisions for, over the short- and medium-term, reducing environmental and traffic impacts and further improving transport efficiency and safety.
In addition to the various vehicles on display, the Iveco stand will also provide visitors with a chance to learn more about the many services on offer. Featured across the stand will be a number of “islands” dedicated to various core functions, including financial services and customer services.
