The new Fiat 500 travels in Euro 5 class with Iveco
Just a few days after the great celebrations held on the river Po in Turin and the market launch in thirty squares of the main Italian cities last weekend, the new 500 is on its way to dealers all over Europe.
The new model, an icon of the new Fiat, already meets Euro 5 standards, which will come into force in September 2009. For its journey towards the dealers, there could be no finer means than Iveco Stralis car transporters, all equipped with engines whose emissions are ahead of regulation requirements. Iveco has been fitting these engines to its range of heavy goods vehicles from late 2005, in accordance with its environmental protection policy.
Stralis was designed to give clients optimized overall vehicle ownership costs, by means of limiting the two major cost items linked to the vehicle: maintenance, and fuel consumption.
Stralis reduces maintenance costs by limiting vehicle down time with extended periods between oil changes, and fast, precise on-board and repair diagnostics. The Euro 5 Cursor engines used on the Stralis are a point of reference in terms of torque, engine life, maintenance and operation costs: consumption is in fact from 2% to 5% lower than the already economical Euro 3 versions, and they are amongst the best in this market sector.
