Crossway

The Crossway coach, available in several lengths – 10.60, 12 and 12.80 metres – has a mission that couldn't be any clearer: line operation. Combining all the features that characterise the vehicles of the Iveco Irisbus range – technological innovation, high levels of quality and reliability, and a sense of inventiveness – Crossway also shows what a proper understanding of aesthetics can offer.

A demand for design excellence and strongly ergonomic qualities mean that both passengers and drivers enjoy a sense of well-being that lasts. And Crossway responds to the need for attractive operating costs and optimised fuel consumption, and to the desire to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Crossway: the way to go.

Safety first and foremost, so like all vehicles of the Iveco Irisbus range, Crossway was designed to comply with the strictest European directives on safety: the R66 rollover test, the accident prevention test, seat anchorage, an effective and performing braking system, and ABS and ASR anti-lock braking and anti-skid systems.

The Crossway frame also undergoes an anticorrosion treatment combining zinc coating and cataphoretic immersion. Last but not least, the adoption of advanced techniques such as rigid structure assembly, the choice of anti-vandalism and fire-resistant materials, and the use of protection on pipes and sharp edges combine to enhance the ever-present feeling of safety in the passenger compartment.

Depending on the type of route covered and the specific operating requirements, Crossway is available with two engine types.
The Tector EEV engine, with restraint and high torque, is available in two power ratings (260 HP and 300 HP) and is most suited to journeys over flat or gently sloping terrain.

The Cursor Euro 5 engine, which develops 330 HP (242 kW), combines economy and performance, and is the ideal choice where engine torque and power are the priority. The Cursor can similarly be made to meet EEV levels.

Like all the other coaches in the Iveco Irisbus range, these engines, which are using the SCR technology, are vertically mounted for ease of access to the power train assembly.
