IVECO Daily midicoaches comfortably the best on the market for Westbus

Hayes-based operator says smoothness of ride benefits passengers and driver

Basildon, August 10, 2018

London-based Westbus has taken on two new IVECO Daily Hi-Matic Euro 6 luxury midicoaches thanks to the vehicle’s superior passenger comfort. They have been delivered through Irish-based Brian Noone, which developed the Turas range of minibus and midicoach bodies.

The Turas 600s-bodied 25-seaters were chosen after Westbus were given a demonstrator to trial. General Manager Tim Miles believes they are a serious option for all coach operators.

“We are new to this product and the demonstrator proved to us this is the best vehicle on the market to replace our older midicoaches. What really stood out for us was the smoothness of the drive and how quiet it was inside,” Mr Miles says.

“Our work can vary from airport pick-ups to corporate events, so it was vital for us to get a luxury vehicle – and the IVECO is exactly that. Passenger comfort is increased by the extra legroom we have got.”

The Daily 70C18s, which will remain in service with Westbus for three years, have been fitted with luxury leather reclining seats, air-conditioning, individual LED reading lights, USB charging points, full draw curtains, reversing camera and an on-board PA system.

Both feature IVECO’s class-leading Hi-Matic automatic transmission which is also found in premium cars manufactured by sister group companies Jeep and Maserati. Offering absolute driving pleasure, it needs less than 200 milliseconds for a gear shift and has the widest ratio spread ensuring it will always be in the optimal gear.

Clocking up around 50,000 km each year, the Dailys are powered by IVECO’s 3.0-litre F1C diesel engine and are built on a 4,350mm wheelbase featuring parabolic rear suspension.

Westbus has been operating throughout the UK and Europe for more than 30 years providing coach hire from a range of vehicles seating between eight and 82 passengers.

Brian Noone is one of the founding members of IVECO’s prestigious BUSMASTER advocate programme. The BUSMASTER seal of approval is only awarded to trusted and reliable bodywork providers after a stringent auditing process – ensuring only the very finest bodybuilders achieve certification.
