Iveco is named Official Sponsor of Yahama Racing Team

Iveco has been named ‘Official Sponsor’ of the Fiat Yamaha MotoGP Team, after two seasons as a premium supplier to the world championship winning squad.

The new season kicks off in Qatar on 11 April 2010, with nine times World Champion, Valentino Rossi (ITA), and his partner Jorge Lorenzo (SPA), looking to secure another strong season for the team.

This sponsorship agreement with Fiat Yamaha will run for two years and provides high profile visibility for the Iveco brand around the world. It includes the supply of a further four Iveco Stralis Active Space Super³ heavy trucks, in addition to the two already in use during the past two seasons, plus the supply of the latest EcoDaily light commercial. The new fleet will be used by the team to transfer race bikes and pit equipment to rounds of the forthcoming MotoGP World Championships.

It marks the further development of Iveco’s sports-based sponsorship strategy which has increasingly tied the company to some of the most famous sporting teams in the world, such as New Zealand’s All Blacks. Iveco also enjoys a strong relationship with Scuderia Ferrari through its role as official supplier. Together, these three high profile sporting links provide an excellent way of communicating and aligning Iveco’s image to personalities and sporting events at the highest level – each of which enjoy a huge worldwide audience.

The 2010 MotoGP Champsionship will visit the UK on 20 June for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone – one of the highlights of the motorsport calendar.
