Iveco delivers fleet of high horsepower tractor units to Alltruck Plc
Commercial vehicle hire specialist Alltruck plc has added 12 Iveco Stralis Active Space Super³ tractor units to its modern rental fleet – one of the youngest in the market, with an average vehicle age of just 23 months.
The Stralis AS440S50TX/P 6x2 twin-steer tractors stand out in the UK rental market for being powered by Iveco’s larger 12.88 litre Cursor 13 engine, which delivers up to 500 hp between 1,525 and 1,900 rev/min and a maximum 2,300 Nm of torque between 1,000 and 1,525 rev/min. All this, whilst meeting Enhanced Environmentally friendly Vehicle (EEV) legislation, making them cleaner than the Euro 5 standard.
Paul Robinson, Managing Director of East Midlands-based Alltruck plc, says: “We first introduced the Stralis to our rental fleet in 2007; the trucks proved very popular with customers, especially due to the size and comfort of the cab.
“We pride ourselves on the age, condition and quality of our rental fleet and as a business we specialise in offering a range of premium tractor units - the Stralis has lived up to this reputation well. We’ve standardised on the 500 hp model in line with our premium rental offering in the marketplace,” explains Robinson.
Like all Stralis AS Super³ tractors, the new Ivecos offer rental customers maximum comfort and space inside the cab, with a heated and air-suspended driver’s seat offering four separate comfort level settings and a flat floor covering the living area of the cab. The high-specification interior also includes a slide-out fridge, air-conditioning, door roller blinds and an electrically operated roof-vent and windscreen blind.
Each of the new vehicles is expected to remain on the fleet for four years, covering between 70,000 and 100,000 miles a year. They will be serviced by a combination of Alltruck plc’s own depots in Leicester, Nottingham and Sleaford, plus Iveco dealerships nationwide.
