Withdrawal end of life vehicles

The European Union issued Directive 2000/53/EC with the aim of reducing the environmental impact of end of life vehicles, promoting the prevention of waste production and contributing to the protection, preservation and improvement of the quality of 'environment. To this end, the Directive lays down certain criteria which the manufacturer must adapt within certain time limits.

In order to prevent the production of waste harmful to the environment the manufacturers in collaboration with manufacturers of materials and equipment, were involved in the qualification of materials used in the construction of new vehicles. The legislation requires that by 2015 vehicles for transporting goods or passengers (with a maximum of nine seats) with a total weight of 3.5 tonnes are recoverable at 95% of their average weight. Iveco, playing in advance, can boast of offering its customers a product whose recovery rate is already very close to the limit.
