The alternative traction

Respect for the environment
The New Daily, for vehicles from 2.3 liters, introduces the Start & Stop system, which switches the engine off when the vehicle stops with the transmission in neutral and restarts automatically as soon as the gear engages. The Start & Stop function allows for a reduction of CO2 emissions by 9 g / km on the combined cycle rising to 23 g / km in the urban cycle.

To support the driver was also introduced GSI (Gear Shift Indicator) suggests that the correct selection of gear by in order to obtain a driving style with the lowest fuel consumption and the lowest CO2 emissions. The new variable-geometry turbocharger of the version 2.3 liters and the new Twin Turbo high efficiency of version 3 liters, together with the redesigned cooling system, allow to achieve maximum efficiency thus ensuring the best performance and the reduction of emissions of pollutants.
Environmental protection is one of the strategic priorities of Iveco. The ecological character of the New Daily, in fact, does not stop only to reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, but also affects the production of the vehicle. The commitment to reduce the environmental impact to the end of the Iveco vehicles is witnessed by the World Class Manufacturing project, which was introduced a few years in the production system of the Fiat Industrial Group, which has chosen to adopt one of the best manufacturing standards worldwide. An integrated model regarding the organization of the factory as a whole and which pays particular attention to the management of environmental aspects with the elimination of waste production.
Another important aspect related to the environmental impact of the Iveco vehicles is the company's leading position with regard to the recyclability of the product. Iveco, having held the lead for a long time for the whole industrial chain involved in the recycling and recovery of materials that make up the vehicle, once it has reached the end of its life.
The alternative traction of the New Daily
Aware of the importance of the theme of environmental protection, Iveco has always devoted special attention to innovative engines, ensuring considerable savings in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions in addition to ensuring the highest standards regarding the reduction of polluting emissions.

Technological innovation to customer service is reflected in the New Daily also on supply of natural gas-powered versions and electric-powered or hybrid, a proposal, the latter, though not yet on the list, now widely proven through numerous field tests conducted by major international customers in real operating conditions.

The New Daily Electric
A pioneer in this technology, Iveco has developed and produced the first electric-powered Daily in 1986, since then the range has been expanded to include vans and buses. Today, high-power electronic systems, combined with the CAN network and Sodium Nickel Chloride batteries, allow the New Daily Electric to ensure high levels of reliability and adapt perfectly to the most common missions in urban areas, such as door to door distribution and urban passenger transport. The electrically powered vehicle with zero emissions at the exhaust is designed, manufactured, marketed and serviced entirely by Iveco. A storage system of high specific energy-type plug-in feeds, through an inverter, a three-phase asynchronous electric motor, which has the task of moving the vehicle directly and to recover energy during braking. It is available in 35S (van and chassis cab) with a motor of 30 kW nominal power (60 kW peak) and 50C (van and chassis cab), equipped with an engine rated at 40 kW (80 kW peak).

With traction batteries sealed with technology Na/NiCl2 (Sodium Nickel Chloride) - which does not produce gaseous emissions, require no maintenance and are completely recyclable - and a nominal voltage of 278 volts, the vehicle is equipped, depending on the version and autonomy request, two, three or four batteries (only 50 C), with a regenerative braking system that allows you to increase autonomy. The top speed is electronically limited to 70 km / h, while the range varies from 90 to 130 km, depending on the number of batteries and mission.

The New Daily Natural Power

Iveco has always attached great importance to natural gas engines, who has been a priority in its research and development. The company is the European leader in the production and marketing of these trucks, vans and buses for different types of missions and, in particular, for urban use.

The New Daily Natural Power is the lightest vehicle within this range detailed and complete and is equipped with the F1 CNG engine from 136 hp FPT Industrial with three-way catalyst, which uses the stoichiometric combustion system (with air ratio -fuel chemically correct), which presents high characteristics of reliability and durability and ensures emission of exhaust well below the limits required by European regulations in force EEV. This system, allows to detect the composition of the gas used and to adapt consequently the operation of the engine, so as to maintain a low level of emissions, without sacrificing performance.

The ignition makes noise emissions lower than those of an equivalent diesel engine, so that these vehicles are particularly suitable for night use in urban centers, without requiring additional sound insulation measures.

The New Daily, Iveco like all other vehicles powered by natural gas, can also already use bio-methane, one of the sources of renewable energy with the best credentials in terms of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
