Euro 5 and EEV engines

The New Daily benefits from innovative technologies developed by FPT Industrial: Motors from 2.3 to 3 liters, manual transmissions to 5:06 reports, in addition to the Agile automatic transmission 6-speed transmission and all 'rear axle that offers a wide choice relationships bevel to the bridge to optimize the final drive ratio as a function of the missions of the prevailing client, ensuring the best in terms of performance, economy and respect for the environment.

The pride of the New Daily is the engine F1 Diesel Euro 5 FPT Industrial 3-liter Twin Turbo develops a power of 205 hp (150 kW) and a maximum torque of 470 Nm, establishing in this way as the most powerful engine of its segment. The engine is equipped with a two-stage turbocharger with double intercooler; such supercharging system comprises an intermediate heat exchanger between the first and the second stage compression resulting in increased efficiency and performance. This engine uses a common rail fuel injection and piezo injectors which optimize the combustion process by reducing pollutant emissions and fuel consumption. The recirculation of exhaust gases (EGR) is obtained through the use of an electric valve DC-motor. It was also optimized the distribution of EGR in order to homogenize the distribution of gas recirculation between the cylinders. The exhaust gases are treated with an oxidation catalyst and a diesel particulate filter (DPF).

The 3-liter engine Light-Duty is also available in two other levels of power: the 170 hp (125 kW) with maximum torque of 400 Nm, which uses a new version of the high-efficiency variable turbine geometry, and the 146 hp (107 kW) with 350 Nm of torque, with a fixed geometry turbocharger with wastegate valve, both engines comply with Euro 5.

The three heavy-duty engines, 170 hp with 400 Nm of torque with two-stage turbocharger, 146 hp with 370 Nm of torque with a new variable geometry turbocharger and the Natural Power 136 hp, instead comply with the EEV standard (Enhanced Environmentally- Friendly Vehicles).
The new diesel engine F1 FPT Industrial 2.3 liter with 146 hp (107kW) and a torque of 350 Nm, offers the new Common Rail Multijet II to multiple injections very close to each other, with a maximum of 8 injections per cycle, which allows to maintain positions of excellence in the category light vehicles for what concerns the noise, emissions of exhaust gas and fuel consumption. The engine is also available in versions from 106 hp (78 kW) with 270 Nm of torque and 126 hp (93 kW) with torque increased to 320 Nm Both models use a fixed geometry turbocharger with wastegate valve.

The 2.3-liter engines are offered in combination with the new Euro 5 engine calibration, and with the Start & Stop system, GSI (Gear Shift Indicator) and the new exchange relationships, solutions to enhance fuel consumption and emissions of CO2 up to 10%.
Series of the EGR system is also provided advanced for the homogenization of the distribution of gas recirculation between the cylinders. Even in this case, the exhaust gases are treated by means of an oxidation catalyst and a diesel particulate filter (DPF).

Two pieces of news regarding the changes: a change in entirely new 6-speed for the 2.3-liter versions and a specific exchange for the new 3-liter engine with 205 hp and 470 Nm of torque, both characterized by the double overdrive the maximum fuel efficiency. For urban missions is available in alternative Agile automated manual transmission 6-speed. The Agile gearbox selects the right gear based on the path, reducing fatigue of the driver and reducing component wear. It can be used both in automatic and sequential.

The choice of technological solutions allows the New Daily at the same time to achieve high performance, low fuel consumption and respect for the environment.
