Daily has always been the model is considered a "champion of mobility". Merit of the rear-wheel drive and high-performance engines: in fact the first ensures the maximum thrust at the point of maximum load while the latter ensures torque and power to be always at the top of the category. The result? Unsurpassed grip and traction in all conditions of load, terrain and road surface.
The New Daily retains, indeed improves these winning characteristics.
The customer can choose between the 2.3-liter (96, 116 or 136 hp) and 3.0 liters (146 or 176 hp). In detail, the five turbodiesel engines are "4 cylinders in line" and have 4 valves per cylinder, driven directly by a twin cam head with hydraulically operated hydraulic tappets. Engines are "common rail" - and thus the injection pressure is not dependent on the number of revolutions of the engine, but is managed independently by an electronic control device. As is known, the system "common rail" optimizes combustion thanks to a brief pilot injection of diesel, thus ensuring high performance, low specific fuel consumption and emission control far more efficient than conventional diesel.
To reduce downtime technique and therefore the loss of productivity, changing the oil and the filter takes place at intervals of 40,000 km, and the 2.3-liter adopts a toothed timing belt with a duration of 5 years or 240,000 km, while the 3.0-liter uses a chain of distribution "for life" tested up to 350,000 km.
Besides these features, the new engines offer even more ecology, power, torque and elasticity.
All engines are Euro 4 standard.
It was introduced the variable turbine geometry also on the range 2.3 liter (.14 engine).
The 3.0-liter engines (available in all versions, including MPV) were still upgraded: the 3.0 HPI now develops 146 hp with maximum torque of 350 Nm, and 3.0 HPT delivers an amazing 176 hp with maximum torque of 400 Nm (value highest category). At this, the New Daily 3.0 HPT adds extraordinary elasticity - the maximum torque is indeed constant from 1250 to 3000 rpm. No competitor has such a wide range.
