Two IVECO Daily Hi-Matics, van and chassis cab, contributed to the 300-kilometer pilgrimage festival, held from 13-22 April. The pilgrimage is one of the most important cultural events in the country.
IVECO, a global leader in on road and off road transportation, contributed to the largest cultural event in Taiwan, the Dajia Mazu Pilgrimage Festival 2018, supporting the Da Jia Zhen Len Temple, with two IVECO Daily Hi-Matic vehicles.
With hundreds of thousands of participants spread over a nine-day itinerary, the Mazu International Festival has been running for centuries and is recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. The Da Jia Zhen Len Temple, located in Taiwan's Taichung City, is the start and end of the entire pilgrimage.
The two Daily Hi-Matic vehicles, in their van and chassis cab versions, will cover a 300-kilometer route made of mountainous and rugged terrain, across four counties. The vehicles, chosen for their great robustness and long-lasting performance, serve the Temple’s staffs to provide all the needs and requirements of the thousands of pilgrims and visitors who join the tough journey.
Strong and versatile in its multiple configurations to tackle every mission, the IVECO Daily HI-Matic is ideal for long distances. The vehicle ensures top performance combined with ease of driving thanks to its class-exclusive 8-speed automatic transmission. The long over drive gear ratio and the turbine-torsional damper torque converter guarantee excellent fuel efficiency.
The IVECO brand debuted in Taiwan in 2014, introducing its IVECO Daily product line-up in the light commercial vehicles segment. Since then, and with the support of its official distributor, Formosa Automobile Sales Corporation (FASC), a comprehensive dealer network of 12 sales and service points was developed to cover all major cities in the country. Once Mazu International Festival is over, the vehicles will be utilized to support the everyday life of the Da Jia Zhen Len Temple and the interactions of monks and pilgrims.
