NATURAL GAS & BIOMETHANE

KEY CHALLENGES

Natural Gas is relevant to a number of key challenges arising due to increasing urbanisation and mobility needs.

While air quality and noise are clearly the most important issues in cities, at global level waste management and greenhouse gas emissions demand our attention. An increasing number of authorities are choosing natural gas vehicles to lower noise levels, for instance for urban public transport and waste collection.

In terms of air quality, gas-powered engines have close-to-zero PM emissions and produce  less NOx.

THE CASE OF BIOMETHANE

By recycling organic materials, biomethane fuel achieves an excellent carbon footprint  cutting CO2 emissions of up to 80%.

A new virtuous environmental and economic cycle has thus been created that affects us all, improving waste management, energy independence, reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, economic value, job creation and overall benefits for transport and mobility.
