New Stralis Emotional Trucks: a Champion among Champions!

Two Iveco Stralis XP-R of Team Schwabentruck will compete in the International ADAC Truck Grand-Prix at the Nürburgring racetrack, Germany.

Iveco will take part in the International ADAC Truck Grand-Prix in Germany with two Stralis XP-R, a special Racing version prepared for competition. The race will be held from the 1st to the 3rd of July on the Nürburgring racetrack, whose famous North Loop circles Nürburg Castle. The race, part of the ETRC (European Truck Race Championship), is a very popular event that attracts more than 100,000 spectators who will witness the 12 best European pilots in the category compete for victory. The German pilot Gerd Korber, Team Schwabentruck lead pilot and three-time champion of the European Truck Race with victories in 1996, 2001 and 2003, and teammate Markus Altenstrasser will compete behind the wheel of two Stralis XP-R, 5.5-ton, competition trucks bearing the Iveco livery and powered with Iveco Cursor 13 engines that deliver an impressive 1150 hp.

Iveco has already participated with Team Schwabentruck in this season's Austria Grand Prix in Spielberg and Italy Grand Prix in Misano, and will be on the circuits of Budapest in Hungary, Most in the Czech Republic, Zolder in Belgium and, for the final, in Le Mans in France for the '24H des Camions' race.

At the Nürburgring Grand Prix Iveco will present the four "Emotional Trucks": versions of the New Stralis XP dedicated to Ferrari, the All Blacks, Dakar Team Petronas De Rooy Iveco and Schwabentruck as a special "tribute" to Iveco's great partnerships with big names from the world of sports. The vehicles' livery was designed and produced by the CNH Industrial Design team, who devoted particular attention to the personalisation of the four vehicles with the colours and graphics of the partnership they are dedicated to.

The four "Emotional Trucks" celebrate the advances made with the New Stralis XP, the most reliable and fuel-efficient truck on the market, designed to maximise reliability and reduce CO2 and TCO. The completely renewed driveline, new best-in-class transmission, re-engineered engine, proven HI-SCR technology, the latest-generation GPS predictive functions and all the new features generate fuel savings of up to 11%. In addition, a unique range of services designed by Iveco to maximise reliability and reduce running costs add further savings of up to 3%. Altogether, product features and services on the Stralis XP work together to reduce TCO in long-haul missions by an impressive 5.6%. The extraordinary TCO and CO2 performance makes the New Stralis XP a true TCO2 Champion.

Pierre Lahutte, Iveco Brand President, commented: "Today you are meeting our four Champions: our New Stralis, the TCO2 CHAMPIONS, wearing the inspiring colours of absolute CHAMPIONS, our sports partners, are here to support the Schwabentruck champions in this great race: Champions…for the Champions!".

The first New Stralis XP Emotional Truck is dedicated to Scuderia Ferrari. The historic collaboration between Iveco and Scuderia Ferrari dates back to 2000. Iveco's involvement in the world of Formula 1 fits within its communication strategy, which always has strong links to the world of sports, consistently with its international identity and continuous search for initiatives that reflect its vitality. Also, Formula 1 is the best expression of technological innovation applied to the world of sports in the automotive field: the same vocation for innovation that drives Iveco in designing and producing its products and services.

The second TCO2 Champion pays tribute to the strong link that has tied Iveco and the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team. In 2015, as "European Supporter of the All Blacks", Iveco provided the team with four Iveco Bus vehicles: a Magelys bus and three Daily Minibus Hi-Matic, which were used for logistical transportation and for the All Blacks' VIP clients during the Rugby World Cup, which was hosted by England. The partnership with the All Blacks is a source of great pride for Iveco and its employees. The determination, reliability, performance and team spirit are the values that the legendary New Zealand team pursues with tenacity – and they are values that Iveco shares in everything it does to meet its customers' needs.

The third Emotional Truck is dedicated to the collaboration with the great Dakar rally pilot, Gerard De Rooy. In the 2016 edition of the Dakar rally, Iveco conquered the top of the podium. Gerard De Rooy, leader of Team PETRONAS De Rooy Iveco, won the 2016 edition of the toughest and most competitive rally in the world. His performance in the thirteen stages of the race demonstrated once again the pilot's outstanding driving and navigation skills, and confirmed the qualities of the Iveco Powerstar. Iveco dominated one of the hardest fought Dakar races ever with 5 different truck manufacturers placed in the first 10 positions. The fourth New Stralis XP Emotional Truck pays tribute to the partnership with Team Schwabentruck, which competes in the FIA European Truck Race Championship with two Stralis XP-R competition trucks - including today in the Nürburgring Grand Prix.
