The delivery of two IVECO trucks adds to more than 40 fire-fighting vehicles deployed by IVECO to Indonesian airports in the last 9 years
IVECO has recently delivered two trucks at the Kertajati International Airport, West Java, for the Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) services. The two IVECO vehicles – a Trakker and an Astra – have been very well received by the airport’s fire fighters, who recognize the high quality, reliability and robustness of these fire-fighting vehicles, which are critical in rescue and fire missions in Indonesia. Since 2009 IVECO has supplied more than 40 fire-fighting trucks to airports across Indonesia.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Iman Firmansyah, Manager at ARFF of Kertajati Airport said:
“We are delighted to have two IVECO trucks in our fleet. These vehicles have passed all our tests including top speed and acceleration, braking test, and water discharge rate and range to ensure our fire brigade crew can work in safety and with high performance during every operation.”
The IVECO Trakker, in its 6x4 rigid configuration (380 hp), is designed for the most extreme missions and can be relied on to deliver an exceptionally powerful performance wherever there is a high risk of fire. The delivered truck, modified by specialist bodybuilder Kajama, is built to withstand constant stress, to carry a fire brigade crew, and the equipment needed to extinguish fires. The purpose-built superstructure is equipped with centrifugal water pump, water tank, foam concentrate tank, powder extinguishing system, rapid intervention equipment.
The IVECO Astra HD9, delivered in its 4x4 rigid configuration (540hp), is specifically designed for heavy and special missions that require heavy equipment such as ladders, platforms, water tanks and pumps. With a strong chassis and frame components, the IVECO Astra’s rear suspension system is supported by the “Power Ring” tandem lower cross bar, while the reinforced front axle can reach up to 10 tons payload. The high-torque, high-power engine (coupled with fully automatic transmission) enable the IVECO Astra to deliver excellent on-road and off-road mobility and travel at high speed in emergency situations. Strong mechanics and a simple electronic technology guarantee reliability and easy serviceability in all conditions.
