Iveco wins the “Prize of Prizes” for Innovation
On the occasion of Italy’s National Day of Innovation, created in 2008 by the Minister of Public Administration and Innovation, Iveco was presented with the “Prize of Prizes” award in a ceremony held at the Quirinale Palace in Rome, attended by the Head of State, Giorgio Napolitano. It is a recognition awarded by the Minister, established by the Council Presidency on behalf of the President, whose goal is to enhance and support the best innovative and creative capacity of companies, universities, government, entities or individual inventors, in order to foster the growth of innovation culture in the country.
The award aims to highlight the best experiences of innovation in service and design industry sector, universities, public administration and services. With it, recognising the ability to turn an idea into a product or operational process in trade and industry but also in social services, that can be successfully sold.
To collect the "prize of prizes" were Iveco CEO Paolo Monferino, and Sergio Bracco, Iveco Vice Presedent responsible for Product Portfolio & Innovation. The prestigious award was presented to Iveco in the Industry and services category - large companies, because the company, as stated in its official motivation, "through innovation, the company has been able to better contain the effects of contracting markets, while improving its competitive position."
Innovation, an integral part of Iveco’s DNA, which defines it as "a methodological or product novelty, which introduces a discontinuity which leads to better customer satisfaction and the needs of sustainable mobility."
Iveco’s innovation process is based on a clear set of steps designed to accommodate product development and methods of design and production. Creativity is encouraged at all levels, but only the best ideas, those meeting the stringent technological feasibility and economic parameters, pass the stage of development and achievement to become available to customers.
Iveco's strong experience in continuous evolution, is now able to propose an offer of high product innovation among the largest and most articulate of the world.
"Innovation has always been a vital factor for our company - commented Paolo Monferino - and today, in a rapidly changing world of transport where it must deal with increasingly diverse and complex customer demands, it is even more so. The evolution of our products has seen a continuous development of both our traditional diesel vehicles and to our alternative powered vehicles, with the clear goal to lead the virtuous path of sustainable mobility and efficiency, in full awareness of our role in the development of a more efficient, safe and environmentally aware transport system.”
