Iveco, a world leader in road transportation, enters the highly demanding and promising truck market in Korea establishing a direct presence through the new branch and introducing a full range of Euro VI vehicles and services that provide complete solutions for the commercial vehicles industry. At today’s press conference, the Stralis Hi-Way heavy commercial vehicle, Trakker on/off-road truck and Eurocargo medium truck were officially presented to the Korean market at Iveco’s new premises in Gwangju.
Iveco, a CNH Industrial brand, enters the Korean market with a full range of commercial vehicles for this country and establishes a direct presence through its brand-new branch CNH Industrial Korea LLC.
The official launch of the branch and product ranges was made through a dealer meeting and a press conference open to customers. Both events were held today at Iveco’s new premises in Gwangju, in the southwest of Korea. Mr. Koray K. Kursunoglu, Business Director of Iveco South East Asia, and Mr. JS Choi, Head of Iveco Korea, introduced Iveco’s vision and entry strategy. Representatives of the local authorities also attended the ceremony.
Iveco Korea will serve its customers from its new branch, a space with an extension of more than 18,000 square meters that includes a fully-owned and well appointed internal workshop, a parts warehouse, offices, a meeting room and training facilities. Iveco’s local team will be supported by its network of 13 after-sales dealers and 3 sales agents, of whom two were appointed in the last two years.
Iveco Korea is entering the market with the full European line-up, compliant with the most advanced Euro VI emissions standards, and offering the best of Iveco’s technology: the Trakker on/off-road truck, the Eurocargo medium truck and the Stralis Hi-Way, Truck of the Year 2013.

Iveco range for the Korean market
The Iveco offering for the Korean market consists of 8 different models. Five Trakkers, both single and hub reduction, with engines coming from 410 Hp up to 500 Hp; two different Stralis solutions for on-road transportation – both in 500 and 560 Hp – and one Eurocargo with 280 hp.
The Iveco Trakker is a high performance and robust truck designed to operate in the extreme on and off-road conditions often found in the construction and mining industries. The vehicle is presented in two variants: a 6x4 dumper model, with a GCW of 30 tonnes, and four 8x4 dumper models with a GCW of 40 tonnes. Both are powered by the Iveco cursor 13, available with 410 hp (6x4 variant), 450 hp (8x4 variant with single and hub reduction) and 500 hp (8x4 variant with single and hub reduction).
The Iveco Stralis Hi-Way heavy commercial vehicle is an excellent solution for the haulage industry due to its low fuel consumption, high reliability, superior safety features, best-in-class cabin ergonomics and comfort. The on-road vehicle, with GCW of 44 tonnes, is presented with two models in the 6x2 tractor version. With rear pneumatic suspension, twin wheels and third rear lift axle, both vehicles are equipped with the Iveco cursor 13 engine, low-roof and high-roof cab at 500 and 560 hp respectively.
The Iveco Eurocargo medium truck offers unprecedented reliability, flexibility and versatility. It is available in on-road version and presented in 4x2 truck variant, with mechanical suspension, a GVW of 12 tonnes. Eurocargo features a Tector 6 engine, available with 280 hp.
Euro VI range
Iveco’s Euro VI range achieves the stringent emissions standards requirements with High Efficiency SCR (HI-eSCR) technology, which takes advantage of the patented SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology to deliver efficiencies without precedent. This breakthrough SCR-only after-treatment system cuts NOx emissions by more than 95 per cent. It uses clean air to optimise combustion efficiency and cut Particulate Matter (PM) levels without the use of EGR, therefore minimising fuel consumption and maximising performance.
In addition, since the engine only breathes clean filtered air rather than recirculated exhaust gases, engine wear is very low and oil change intervals are longer, with service intervals of up to 150,000 km. This also results in increased reliability, lower operating costs and reduced down time for scheduled maintenance.
Iveco was the first manufacturer to announce its Euro VI engine technology strategy back in April 2010.

한국 시장을 위한 IVECO 차종
한국 시장을 위해서 IVECO는 8종류의 모델을 소개한다. 5종류의 덤프 트럭 TRAKKER (싱글과 허브 감속기 타입, 410~500Hp의 엔진 조합), 도로 운송용으로 2종류의 트랙터 STRALIS (500Hp과 560Hp)와 280Hp인 중형 트럭 EUROCARGO다.
IVECO 덤프 트럭 TRAKKER는 주로 건설 및 광산 산업에서 찾는 극한 조건이나 비포장 조건에서 운전할 수 있도록 설계된 고성능의 강력한 트럭이다. TRAKKER는 2가지 그룹으로, GCW 40톤의 8X4 덤프 4모델과 GCW 30톤의 6X4 모델을 소개한다. 두 그룹 모두 IVECO커서(CURSOR) 13 엔진을 적용하여, 500Hp, 450Hp(8X4 모델 싱글 및 허브 감속기 타입) 및 410Hp(6X4 모델)의 엔진 출력을 낸다.
IVECO STRALIS Hi-Way 대형 상용 차량은 낮은 연료 소모, 높은 신뢰성, 우수한 안전 기능, 동급 최고의 인체 공학적 설계와 편안한 실내를 갖춘 트레일러 산업을 위한 탁월한 해결책이다. GCW 44톤의 도로 운송용 차량으로, 6X2 트랙터 버전의 두 가지 모델을 제공한다. 리어 에어 서스펜션과 복륜, 3축 리프트 액슬을 장착한 두 가지 모델은 하이 및 로우 루프 캡을 갖추고 각각 560Hp과 500Hp의 커서(CURSOR) 13엔진을 장착했다.

EURO6 제품 영역
IVECO 유로 6 엔진은 전례 없는 효율을 제공하는 특허 받은 SCR (선택적 촉매 환원) 기술을 활용하여 고효율 SCR (HI-eSCR) 기술과 엄격한 배출가스 표준 기준을 만족시켰다. 이 획기적인 SCR-단독 후 처리 시스템은 NOx 배출을 95% 이상 줄여 준다. 엔진 효율을 최적화 시키기 위해 깨끗한 공기를 사용하고, EGR을 사용하지 않고도 입자상 물질(PM) 수준을 낮추어 궁극적으로 연료 소모를 최소화 하고 성능을 극대화한다.
게다가, 재순환된 배기 가스보다는 여과된 깨끗한 공기를 엔진이 사용하므로, 엔진의 마모가 매우 적고, 오일 교환 주기가 길어지며, 정비 주기도 150,000 킬로미터까지 길어졌다. 또한 신뢰성이 증대되고, 운행 비용이 절감되며, 정비 시간을 줄여준다.
