A new Iveco Irisbus motorhome for Ferrari
A new Iveco Irisbus motorhome Domino HDH was presented to the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team at the Fiorano race track yesterday in the presence of Stefano Domenicali, Ferrari Racing Department Team Principal and Marco Monticelli, Iveco Vice President External Relations & Communication. At the ceremony were also Luca Badoer, official Ferrari test driver and Enrico Vassallo, Irisbus Italia General Manager.
The new motorhome, based on the 450 cv Cursor 10 engined Domino HDH luxury coach, will escort the Formula 1 Test Team on the World Championship race tracks during racing events. It will be used mainly as a hospitality area for the drivers and the team, while at the official race events it will be also reserved for media and sponsor activities .
Iveco Irisbus has thus consolidated its partnership with the Ferrari team, to whom the company delivered a motorhome in 2002 and a minibus Proxys in 2006, and has reinforced its specialization as supplier of customised vehicles for sports teams, having recently designed and produced the motorhome for the Liquigas Cycling Team and the coaches for Torino, Juventus and Chievo Verona Football Teams .
Vehicle technical characteristics
The vehicle, a Domino HDH equipped with the Euro V Cursor 10 engine rated at 450 cv and the Eurotronic transmission, personalised with the Ferrari logo and the exclusive red colour of the Scuderia Ferrari has been completely restructured internally in order to meet the team’s needs.
Three internal rooms have been created, separated by sliding doors: a meeting room with two settees with a central table with computer and DVD/LCD tv sockets, connected to a satellite TV receiver; an office zone with three work stations, a wardrobe, a wall unit incorporating cupboards and shelves; annexed to this a bathroom complete with Ferrari red wash basin; finally the drivers’ rest area with massage facilities, two work stations arm chairs, an LCD tv, wardrobe, cupboard and reclining bed in the driving area. The driving area includes a passenger seat as well as the normal driving seat. The internal appointment is varnished wood with soft furnishings in red.
Housed in the normal luggage area are the electrical generator, air conditioning plant, and electric water heater.
On the roof there are lights, opening ventilators and a satellite antenna compartment as well as mounting for the large restaurant awning capable of accommodating up to 50 guests.
