Soccer World Cup Winners Italy with Iveco Irisbus
It is a CityClass Open Top Iveco Irisbus the blue coated vehicle with the symbols of the Italian Soccer National Team, which, the evening before yesterday, bore in triumph the 23 World Cup Winners together with their coach Mr. Marcello Lippi to the Circo Massimo through the streets of Rome, drunk with so many people and happiness.
Actually the “World Cup Champion” vehicle is red and it resembles the traditional London public transport means and it is used for tours in Rome. It belongs to a fleet of 22 "CityClass Open Top" that have been delivered to Trambus Open – the company for local transports – and to the Municipality of Rome since September 2004 with a ceremony to which participated, among others, the vice-chairman of Fiat Group, Mr. John Elkann and the Mayor of Rome, Mr. Walter Veltroni.
The two-level open top vehicles are considered the best means to allow the visitor enjoying the architectural and historical beauties even with difficult traffic conditions and during short stays. For this reason many of the greatest European Capitals chose this kind of bus; re-qualifying this special way of transport which enhances the spectacularity of tours.
The top open CityClass was developed in cooperation with Trambus Open company, which manages the tourist services in Rome. The Iveco CityClass Irisbus is at present, with more than 5000 units in use, the most highly spread vehicle in Italian towns; among many features, the platform is lowered and an electric foot-board on the central door allows an easy access for everybody. For the first time the CityClass is realized with two levels and for this special use it has been equipped with the specific mechanical integrations, also for certification, in compliance with the European Direction 2001/85/CE.
