Pierre Lahutte, IVECO Brand President, spoke at the event, thanking Shell for its commitment to developing the infrastructure needed for the successful transition to alternative traction vehicles in transport: “Shell embraces our strategy and shares our belief in the key role that natural gas has to play in the de-carbonisation of the transport industry. IVECO has the answer today for every business and every mission with a full offering of natural gas vehicles, from LCVs all the way to heavy long-haul trucks and buses. We see the demand of our Stralis NP truck increase exponentially in Western Europe, as a growing number of companies demand their logistics operators to deliver environmentally-friendly transport. For this trend to continue and natural gas to fulfil its potential, the necessary infrastructure needs to be in place In Germany and Central Europe. That is why our approach to sustainability extends to supporting the development of the refuelling station network through partnerships such as the one we have with Shell.
