Iveco to deliver over 1,600 vehicles to Iraq
Iveco signed an agreement with the Ministry of Electricity of Iraq for the supply of over 1,660 vehicles in the span of three years.
 
The accord is valued at €125 million and specifies the delivery of vehicles from Iveco’s light and medium ranges (Daily vans and crew cabs, and Eurocargo) from 3,5 to 18 ton. Most of these vehicles will be specially equipped with cranes and lifting platforms for the maintenance of the nation’s electric distribution network.
 
The signing took place in the Minister’s offices in Baghdad which saw representatives for Iveco and the Minister of Electricity of Iraq in the presence of the Italian Ambassador to Iraq, Massimo Marotti.
 
This appointment is the latest development in Iveco’s ambitious expansion plan for the Africa and Middle East markets. The objective is to obtain product volumes and market share increasing Iveco’s position among the leading supplier of industrial vehicles in this area by 2014.
 
The Africa and Middle East markets are important areas for Iveco’s commercial development. Iveco has reinforced its presence, and will continue to do so, in these markets by significantly increasing its distribution, commercial and service networks.
