IVECO to supply Italian company Gruber Logistics with fleet of IVECO S-Way LNG trucks for sustainable transport

IVECO has signed an agreement with the Italian logistics operator for the supply of 100 vehicles powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), providing a winning combination of performance and sustainability.

IVECO has signed an agreement to supply 100 IVECO S-Way LNG trucks to the Italian company based in the Alto Adige region, Gruber Logistics – one of the most innovative and successful logistics companies in Europe. The vehicles will be provided through IVECO’s local dealer in Bolzano, Gasser Srl.

The delivery of the 100 vehicles is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.

The decision of Gruber Logistics to convert part of its fleet to alternative fuel vehicles is driven by the company's deep concern for the environment and its commitment to making e a tangible contribution to the achievement of the goals set by the European Union.
Also contributing to the company’s decision was the location of its historical headquarters, in an area at the heart of an intense debate on environmental issues that has led the Assembly of the Tyrol region to adopt significant measures to limit the impact of pollution generated by heavy vehicles crossing the Brenner Pass.

The IVECO S-Way LNG vehicles were the natural choice for Gruber Logistics, which has found in these heavy-duty trucks the environmental and economic sustainability – and, crucially, the high performance – that it requires. These vehicles feature technology that has been expressly designed to achieve a significant reduction in fuel consumption and pollution - bringing NO2 down by 90% and PM down by 95%, as well as slashing CO2 emissions by 95% compared to their diesel equivalents when biomethane is used.

Martin Gruber, CEO of the Group, made the following statement: “Our objective is to have the most important fleet in Europe for sustainable transport by exploiting existing technologies and supporting innovation so that new zero-impact technologies can reach the market quickly. Digitalization and sustainability – social as well as environmental – are fundamental elements of our company’s development plan.

Carmelo Impelluso, IVECO Brand Europe Director, commented: “The trust that Gruber Logistics Group has placed in us by signing this important contract is clear evidence of our shared vision for the future of the world of transport. Once again, we admire and appreciate their foresight, a quality that has served as a constant guide for the company's investments over the years, enabling it to become the innovative organisation that it is today. At IVECO, we are honoured to be able to contribute to the group's ambitious goals for sustainable growth with a product that combines cutting-edge technology, performance and care for the environment.

Mihai Daderlat, Business Director IVECO Italy Market, concluded: “The agreement with Gruber Logistics once again places our brand at the forefront of sustainable mobility. We are particularly proud of this agreement, for the strong relationship that connects us to such a large international group and for the focus that Gruber has demonstrated on green issues, which is fully in line with IVECO's objectives.

Founded in 1936, today Gruber Logistics is a group led by the third generation of the Gruber family. With offices across Europe and Asia, the company offers its customers an extensive range of services in the areas of part-load, full-load and exceptional transport operations, air and sea transport, logistics and industrial removals; the group's international expertise and in-depth knowledge of the countries in which it operates enable it to cover a wide variety of sectors, from the steel industry to the automotive sector and from the chemical industry to the food and paper industries.

Gruber Logistics was supported in the purchase by the IVECO Gasser Srl dealership, a company that spans more than 60 years of history. Founded by Franz Gasser, it is now run by his two sons Alex and Lukas, ensuring continuity of the original values and principles, and maintaining an absolute focus on the customer.
