The new Daily wins awards in Germany and Spain
Just two months since its International Launch, Iveco’s New Daily has already won two important awards: in Germany it was given the “European Award for Sustainability in Transport” and in Spain it received the “Premios Europa del Transporte” for innovation.

In Germany, the New Daily Electric received the award, which duly acknowledges Iveco's efforts and investments in the field of research and development. The New Daily Electric represents the future of metropolitan transport: it is classified as a ZEV (Zero-Emission Vehicle), is not subject to the traffic restrictions affecting internal combustion vehicles and is ideal for urban missions such as door-to-door distribution and public transport.

Iveco developed the first electrically-powered Daily in 1986; since then the range has increased and now includes vans and city buses. Today, the high-powered electronic systems and the CAN network and Sodium Nickel Chloride batteries assure high reliability for the new Daily Electric. The zero-emissions electrically powered vehicle is designed, manufactured and sold directly by Iveco.
In Spain the jury of the “Premios Europa del Transporte”, set up by the magazine “Transporte Profesional” and the Spanish confederation of goods transport (CETM), awarded Iveco the prize not only for the technological innovations introduced with the New Daily, aiming to improve driving comfort, active and passive vehicle safety but also the efficiency of transport operations.

Now in its XVII edition, the award is given annually to associations, businesses, institutions, organisations and individuals whose work and specific projects have contributed to the development of goods transport in Spain and across Europe. The event, held in Madrid, saw the participation of more than 300 guests from all sectors of transport and logistics.
