The light vehicle segment is represented by the New Daily 50C in an electrically powered model, equipped with an electrically manoeuvred France Elévateur elevator basket.
Iveco developed the first electrically-powered Daily in 1986; since then the range has increased to include vans and city buses. Today, the high power electrical systems, along with the CAN network and the Sodium Nickel Chloride batteries, enable the electric version of the New Daily to guarantee high reliability and to be perfectly suited to most standard urban missions, such as door to door delivery and people carrying in an urban context. The zero-tailpipe emissions electrically powered vehicle is designed, built, marketed and fully supported by Iveco.
A high specific energy plug-in accumulation system feeds an asynchronous three phase electric motor by means of an inverter. The motor is directly responsible for moving the vehicle and recovering energy while braking. The vehicle is available in the 35C and 35S versions (van and chassis cab) with power ratings that range from 30 kW nominal power (60 kW peak) and 50C (van and chassis cab), equipped with a 40 kW nominal power (80 kW peak). With sealed traction batteries which exploit the Na/NiCl2 technology, (Sodium Nickel Chloride) - which do not produce gaseous emissions, require no maintenance and are totally recyclable - and a nominal voltage of 278 Volts, the vehicle, depending on the versions and the mileage required, is equipped with two, three or four batteries (only the 50C version), with a system of regenerative braking which enables its range to be increased. The maximum speed is electronically limited to 70 km/h while the range varies between 90 and 130 km, based on the number of batteries and the mission involved.
The New Daily, the latest evolution of the light Iveco commercial vehicle range, has been thoroughly revised both in terms of aesthetics and contents, now perfectly complies with the need to put technological innovation at the service of the customer.
