September 1951: the first Campagnola was born. Agile, versatile, indestructible, it travelled to far off lands and became an icon of the Italian motor vehicle in the world. The Campagnola is a synonym of offroad travel and it is confirmed as a historic Italian made brand.
January 1952: the Campagnola set out on an incredible adventure for a factory vehicle - crossing Africa vertically from Capetown to Algiers. An epic undertaking: 15,000 km over the Savana and mountains, quicksand and desert, scorching trails and bursting rivers. Paolo Butto, sports driver, and Domenico Racca, tester, beat all of the previous records completing the journey in 11 days, 15 hours and 45 minutes. The Campagnola became a legend. The record still stands today.
