IVECO's new ACCO range shares many of the same features as the award-winning S-Way but has been developed to meet the needs of specialist vocational applications including refuse work.
The range is available in both 6x4 and 8x4 configurations (with load share front suspension on 8x4) and feature IVECO's 8.7L, Euro 6 (Step E) Cursor 9 engine - buyers can select from two output ratings spanning with up to 360hp and 1,650Nm available. The standard transmission across all models is the proven Allison 3200 6-speed fully automatic, a favourite for demanding stop and start applications.
Wheelbases include 3800mm, 4200mm, 4500mm and 4800mm for 6x4 variants, while the 8x4 comes in a choice of 5020mm, 5300mm and 5600mm. GVM and GCM for the 6x4 range is 27600kg, and 28500kg for 8x4 models. All ACCO models are exclusively available with Active Day cabins.

Featuring a 28500kg GVM, the ACCO 8x4 provides scope for larger bodies and payloads, such as those needed for front load compactor applications. Waste industry consultation during development of the new generation ACCO means the platform has been closely honed to meet its requirements. Benefits include the inclusion of top-mount PTO with activation switches and electrics, and CAN OPEN bodybuilder interface for easy fitment of a range of bodies and equipment.
With its 8x4 configuration and load share front suspension, the ACCO 8x4 model better distributes payload over the axles, allowing greater flexibility for hook-lift work. ACCO's tough chassis and driveline also make the platform well suited to bulk waste retrieval from constructions sites and the like; standard differential cross locks also assist on slippery gravel and muddy surfaces where traction could be lost. Axle load indicators are also standard on airbag suspension models, ensuring road mass limits are not exceeded.
