The decompression engine brake of the Cursor drive trains, connected to the variable geometry turbine or the CEB makes braking safe and allows the reduction of the service brake - thereby limiting the wear on the consumable parts of the braking system.
The standard 8x4 and 6x4 single reduction vehicles take advantage of front and rear disk brakes, hub reduction 8x4 and 6x4 have front disc and rear drum brakes, all systems are electronically controlled by ABS, EBL systems - to optimize the braking power based on the load - and, upon request, anti-slip ASR. All front axles with disc brakes have a front park brake facility fitted.
The 4x4 and 6x6 all wheel drive version have duo-duplex drum brakes on all wheels.
