The turbo charging system contributes decisively to engine performance - guaranteeing pick-up on acceleration, greater flexibility and higher torque. It also improves driving comfort by eliminating "turbo-lag": the engine responds immediately to the accelerator command.
Through the electronic control, the VGT adapts the characteristics of the turbo compressor to the engine revolutions: thanks to a moving wall system the speed of the exhaust gas that passes through the turbocharger can be modified, permitting optimum control of the turbo charging pressure.
