IVECO Previews new Stralis X-Way Truck in South Africa

IVECO previews the new Stralis X-Way, which will be available to South African customers in 2019.

The new Stralis X-WAY range is specifically developed for professional and construction logistics, providing the PERFECT CROSSING for on-road applications requiring off-road mobility.

IVECO showcased the extensive breadth of its commercial vehicle line-up to the public from the 14th to the 17th of May at the 2019 NAMPO auto show in Bothaville in the Free State province of South Africa. Grain SA’s NAMPO Harvest Day is one of the largest agricultural exhibitions in the southern hemisphere taking place annually at NAMPO Park, enabling role players in the agricultural industry to experience the latest technology and products on offer in the farming industry first-hand and on one terrain.

IVECO South Africa displayed vehicles across different applications:

  • a 23-seater minibus built locally on Daily 50C15V panel van architecture
  • a MLC140E22 Eurocargo chassis cab truck
  • a Trakker AT440T44TH 6x4 prime mover
  • a Stralis AS440S48TZP 6x4 prime mover with pneumatic suspension
  • a 65-seater Afriway commuter bus built by IVECO South Africa based on the IVECO chassis
  • an Astra 84.44 8x4 chassis cab
  • a Stralis X-Way AD260S35Z 6x4 freight carrier with an 8.5 metre curtain-side load body

In addition to the preview of the Stralis X-Way, IVECO South Africa displayed the Afriway bus for the first time to Nampo Show audiences. “The presence of the Afriway, an IVECO Bus product unique to South Africa, further emphasized the ability of IVECO able to offer a solution to a wide range of commercial applications in the territory and underlines the brands aspiration to be the chosen partner in sustainable transport – Mutseura added.
