Engines Euro 4 and Euro V / EEV

The Daily has always been considered a "champion of mobility" , thanks to rear-wheel drive and powertrains to elevatete performance. The first ensures the maximum thrust at the point of maximum load while the latter ensures torque and power at the top of the category . This results in unsurpassed grip and traction in all conditions of load, terrain and road surface . Now these winning characteristics , are not only maintained, but also further improved.
With regard to the classification according to European standards for emissions of exhaust gases, the amendments to the European regulations introduced recently have affected the division between light duty vehicles and heavy duty vehicles legally defining " light duty " those with a permissible maximum weight up to 3.5 and "heavy duty" those with higher weight. This new law allows vehicles with a reference weight ( empty weight of the vehicle unless the driver , 75 kg, with an added weight of 100 kg) up to 2610 kg ( 2840 kg can be extended at the request of the manufacturer ) to be approved " light duty . " Instead vehicles with a reference weight exceeding 2610 kg ( which can be reduced in certain circumstances to 2380 kg ) are considered "heavy duty" .
On the basis of this division the light duty vehicles must comply with the Euro 4 standard while the heavy duty are governed by the Euro V standard , in force from next October.
ECODaily adapts to this new scenario and prepares for legislative changes by offering customers two choices depending on your needs , with a wide range of engines approved for each regulatory standards . For light duty models the option is between the 2.3-liter version , which adds to the traditional powers (96, 116 and 136 hp) to two new engines from 106 to 126 hp , and the 3.0 -liter, 146 and 176 hp. All engines make use of proven technology EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system which reduces NOx emissions through recycling a controlled amount of exhaust gas cooled and re-injected into the combustion chamber.
The heavy duty vehicles instead are equipped with a 3.0 liter engine with two-stage turbocharger with power ratings from 170 hp and 140 (the latter available from spring 2010) and DPF as standard .
ECODaily testifies even more his respect for the environment with the CNG engine from 136 hp meets Euro V, although all versions heavy duty actually fulfill the most stringent EEV standard .
