An Iveco Trakker from the De Rooy Dakar Rally Team at Samoter
The Trakker 4x4 prepared by the Dutch team De Rooy specifically for the Dakar 2011 rally will attend Samoter, the International Exhibition of Earth Moving, Site and Construction equipment, held in Verona from tomorrow until Sunday, March 6th  2011.

The vehicle, the protagonist in the latest edition of the world's most famous rally, will be on display at the Iveco Demo Area, a large area dedicated to dynamic testing established inside the fair complex.

The Trakker, derived from the 190T50W chassis with Active Day cab, is adapted and designed to withstand many stresses and the hectic pace imposed by the race conditions. It is equipped with an FPT Industrial Cursor 13 6-cylinder engine that develops over 800 cv and can reach speeds over 150 km/h.

The Trakker exhibited at Samoter performed well against opponents in the last Dakar and conceded only when, after a very hard landing following a jump, the driver, Gerard De Rooy, was forced to withdraw due to a problem with his spinal column, while his teammate Pep Vila, with an identical Trakker, arrived at the finish line with an historic sixth place for the Dutch team.
