Iveco solutions for mail & parcel delivery at Post-Expo 2007
Iveco participates to Post-Expo 2007, that has started today in Barcelona, thus confirming its strong interest in the mail & parcel delivery industry. Iveco supplies operators a full product range, flexible to bodywork requirements and environment friendly thanks to compressed natural gas (CNG) power solutions that ensure ultra-low emissions.
The stand setting is selected to highlight continuity with the Iveco All Blacks sponsorship, is congruent with the communication mode adopted in the recent product launches as well as in the national and international shows held during the year.
At Post-Expo Iveco exhibits two vehicles equipped with CNG engines, as exemplars of the excellent powertrain solutions for sustainable mobility: one three-axle Stralis AD260 and a Daily chassis cab, which ensures full versatility and reduced bodybuilding costs.
The Iveco stand also exhibits a Daily Vendor van, equipped with a lateral sliding door for urban delivery missions.

Urban transport and environment: Daily CNG
Working in urban areas where local air quality is vitally important requires a vehicle with the appropriate environmental footprint. Meeting this objective with very low exhaust and noise emissions is Daily CNG. New Daily CNG sports the new 3.0 litre dedicated natural gas engine, certified to the EEV (Environmentally Enhanced Vehicle) standard but with a NOx limit of only 1/ 4 of the required value. The combustion strategy follows the stoichiometric regime and, coupled to a three-way exhaust catalystprovides for very low tail-pipe emissions. This combustion strategy allows for changes in natural gas composition without any adverse engine effects because the closed loop lambda control is able to maintain the necessary air fuel ratio under all circumstances. With an engine rating of 140 hp, Daily CNG is available from 3.5 t up to 6.5 t; the addition of this version serves to illustrate the vast range of the new Daily range.
Sustainable urban missions: Stralis CNG
Iveco recently presented the new CNG Stralis, thus completing its range of CNG vehicles to satisfy the broadest variety of transport needs. These include: Daily (3.5-6.5 tons), Eurocargo (12-16 tons) and Stralis (18-26 tons), with HP from 106 to 272.
The Stralis CNG ranges from 18 to 26 tonnes with two- and three-axle, 4x2 and 6x2x4 configurations, the latter with a trailing steering axle equipped with pneumatic suspension. This version is ideal for urban uses and comes with the new Allison 3200 automatic gearbox with hydraulic torque converter, 6 speeds and integrated retarder. CNG Stralis vehicles come with Cursor 8 CNG engines with 7.8 litre displacement. The environmental performance of Iveco CNG engines exceeds European standards for Enhanced Environmentally Friendly Vehicles (EEV) as per Directive 2005/55/EC.
Iveco: the ideal partner for parcel & delivery operators
Iveco establishes a close partnership co-operation with its clients in the mail & parcel sector with a view to optimise bodywork and running costs – among others DPWN, FedEx, GeoPost, TNT DHL, UPS and every national post agency in Europe. These excellent clients have chosen Iveco having as one of the main drivers the great attention to the environment Iveco demonstrates through its product range.
Co-operation with the customer is the approach Iveco adopts to deliver the most appropriate transport solutions for any operation needs. Flexibility of Daily, Eurocargo and Stralis is evident in vehicle design, apt to allow any bodywork fast, and at low cost.
