In the framework of the support initiative to technical training in Egypt, developed with the Egyptian Ministry of Education and the Embassy of Italy in Egypt, Iveco – represented by Mr. Luca Merlo, Head of Human Resources of Middle East & Africa - has awarded several scholarships to the trainees who completed the 1st and 2nd year of the "Professional Training Program for Automotive Mechanics", carried out in co-operation with the Don Bosco Institute.
The awards ceremony was held at the presence of Italian Ambassador in Cairo Mr. Antonio Badini, the Egyptian Minister of Education Mr. Yousri El Gamal, the Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade Mr. Mohamed Rasheed, and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Mr. Hany Helal. Moreover, Iveco has donated to the Don Bosco Institute a medium range vehicle Eurocargo, during the event.
Iveco has started the training program in 2004, in cooperation with Don Bosco Institute, with the aim to facilitate the employment of young technicians through updating the knowledge of young trainees with the latest technology in the automotive maintenance field. The training encompasses the latest technologies and diagnosis solutions for commercial and industrial vehicles with a view to develop a know-how tailored to meet the repair requirements of increasingly complex products and the clients’ increasing expectations.
On purpose, Iveco has provided the Don Bosco Institute with all the required tools, equipments, didactical materials, electronic tools, diagnosis devices and simulators.
