Iveco at the 2013 edition of Comtrans in Moscow

Iveco is participating at the 12th International Exhibition “Comtrans 2013” in Moscow. The company’s presence at the exhibition places special emphasis on natural gas powered vehicles, a field in which it is the European leader.
The most important industry fair dedicated to commercial and industrial vehicles, Comtrans takes place every two years, alternating with the Hanover Motor Show. It is being held at the Crocus Expo in Moscow from 9 to 14 September 2013 with an expected presence of over 300 exhibitors.

Iveco participates with its full product line-up: from light to medium, heavy and special mission vehicles for construction and quarry work as well as its bus segment. Among those on display are two methane gas powered vehicles which demonstrate the company’s continued commitment to the environment through sustainable mobility solutions.

The CNG vehicles positioned at the center of the stand are a minibus version of the Daily 50C14G CNG equipped with a body produced by “ST Nizhegorodetz”, a renowned local bodybuilder specialized in converting vans into minibuses and a medium range Eurocargo ML120E20 CNG truck supplied to Nestlé Waters that features the brand’s livery.

Completing the Iveco range on the stand are: the Iveco Daily 70C15, a leader in its class with a 7 ton gross weight, ideal for customers seeking the best medium range transport solutions; the Trakker, a specialized heavy vehicle for off-road missions which is manufactured by the IVECO-AMT joint venture; and the Stralis Hi-Way, the protagonist of the Iveco heavy range and winner of the prestigious International Truck of the Year 2013 award. Representing the bus segment is the Magelys PRO, a premium tourism coach at the top of its class.

The expo’s outdoor display area will feature two Astra HD9 dumpers with 6x6 and 8x8 wheel drive, Iveco’s specialized vehicle for construction and quarry transport missions.

The theme of sustainable mobility, a concept which Iveco implements into all of its products on a daily basis, is also at the heart of a major collaboration agreement signed earlier this year between Iveco Russia LLC and Gazprom PLC, the biggest extractor and supplier of natural gas in the Russian Federation. The agreement foresees the two parties’ joint promotion of the use of natural gas powered vehicles.

Iveco and Gazprom will conduct programs dedicated to the testing and development of CNG vehicles, the organization of campaigns to promote this traction as the best alternative for commercial vehicles, and the development of a complete network of CNG stations across Russia.

Alfredo d’Errico, Head of Iveco Russia LLC, commented: “For us the Comtrans exhibition has always been and remains a top priority. It is an excellent opportunity to showcase our products and our major achievements. This has been an exceptional year for us; we have achieved great progress in promoting CNG vehicles in Russia and our collaboration with Gazprom PLC, one of the largest state companies, will accelerate our efforts even further in this direction.”
