IVECO TECHNOLOGY IN BALOCCO FOR FORMULA ATA 2006
From today to Sunday, September 10th, the Fiat Auto Proving Ground in Balocco (Vercelli) will be the venue of the second edition of formula ATA, and IVECO will take part to the event as one of the most important sponsors.
It is a technical-sporting event organized by “Associazione Tecnica dell’Automobile“ (the Italian Automotive Technical Association), which is dedicated to university students and aims at stimulating and awarding the enthusiasm, creativity, competence and team spirit of young engineers.
During the races in Balocco two new Daily, prepared for the Ferrari team, for which Iveco is the official supplier, will act as Safety Cars, reminding the Formula one Grand Prix scheduled on the week-end in Monza.
The event includes two competitions. In the first one, named Formula SAE Italy, many teams of young engineers will compete in static and dynamic tests for conventional single-seated racing vehicles designed by them.
The other competition is the Formula TECH and it will be dedicated to the realization and increase in value of innovative solutions developed in the universities all over the world with the purpose of reducing the environmental impact of vehicles on two, three or four wheels.
IVECO is an absolute protagonist of a sustainable ecological mobility and the presence in Balocco of the new Daily, and especially the Stralis, the two top products that show the commitment of the company in this sector, will encourage the technical-scientific competition and will create also an extraordinary meeting opportunity for the academic and industrial worlds.
The 2006 edition of Formula ATA will be richer due to the international meeting “Integrated Chassis Control” during which new advanced “by-wire” systems for vehicle performance and safety will be presented.
