Iveco is renewing its partnership with MotoGP, the premier international motorcycle racing championship. The company is also renewing its alliance with Dorna, the Spanish company that manages the organisation of the FIM MotoGP World Championship. It will act as Trucks & Commercial Vehicles Supplier.
The new season started on Sunday, 23 March, with a spectacular night race at the Losail International Circuit, located near Doha, the capital of Qatar, and will end this November at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, Spain. There will be a total of 18 races in 13 different countries, spanning four continents.
Iveco will once again provide support throughout the course of this edition of the MotoGP. The company has supplied Dorna Sports with four Daily, from its light commercial vehicle product range and 13 Stralis Hi-Way, Iveco’s flagship models in its heavy range line-up, which are in line with the best in class standards for the segment. The Stralis Hi-Way provides exclusive technological solutions not just in terms of engines, but also with regards to on-board infotelematics achieving well-deserved success on the market and appreciation from customers.
Iveco vehicles known for their reliability and safety, will be used throughout the season to transport materials, gear, and equipment, as well as offices and mobile workshops for the entire competition.
Starting from this year, Iveco will also be “Official Supplier” of the Team VR46 in the Moto 3, the junior category of the FIM MotoGP World Championship, in which the rising stars in the world of motorsports will compete. The Team was formed through a collaboration between Sky Sport and Valentino Rossi’s company, VR46, and will be racing on KTM bikes at the Moto3 World Championship. The team’s two riders are Romano Fenati from Le Marche, Italy and Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia from Piedmont, Italy Team manager is Vittoriano Guareschi, a 13-year veteran of the MotoGP.
In its capacity as Official Supplier, Iveco will be providing two black 500-hp Stralis Hi-Way Euro VI vehicles. The two trucks from Iveco’s heavy range line-up will be branded with the team’s colours and be used to transport materials, serve as a workshop, and be used for hospitality.
The collaboration with such prestigious partners as Dorna Sports and Valentino Rossi’s Sky Racing Team once again confirms Iveco’s strong ties with the world of sports, even the most extreme ones, combining the perfect blend of energy and enthusiasm along with discipline and team spirit.
