The International Energy Agency, together with the European Conference of Ministers of Transport, is hosting in Paris the International Workshop on Fuel Efficiency Policies for Heavy-Duty Vehicles. This two-day event is aimed to explore measures to dramatically improve the fuel efficiency of heavy-duty vehicles.
Enrico Durelli, responsible for technical innovation in Iveco, is presenting at this workshop the Iveco Transport Concept covering important considerations on vehicle operating costs and how these may be reduced by application of appropriate technologies.
Data are provided on savings to be made by optimising tyres, aerodynamics, auxiliaries and engines for heavy duty vehicles.
A further important point is made regarding the trade off between air quality measures and vehicle fuel economy requesting that legislators make clear cost benefit analyses in support of legislative measures.
