Bill of material

The purpose of the BOM is to make visible the knockdown structure to the customer, in relation to the chosen product supply.
It is derived from the CBU vehicle, having removed all the groups/components not requested and including those specific to the CKD vehicle.
The Production Bill of Materials (PBOM) is generated from EBOM (engineering Bill of Materials) and it  is undertaken with a data processing system on which are made manual transactions in PBoM environment called “neatness  process" where are controlled:

  • Lightening
  • Alternatives
  • Changes/Modifications "UP or FROM"

and then it executes a process of PBOM reconstruction according to clearly established rules for getting the final structure of the requested configuration of CKD vehicle (VP CKD).

It contains the characteristics of the CKD vehicle to be built, including:

  • PIC code
  • Wheelbase
  • Type
  • Options
  • Version
  • Customer market
  • Type of steering

The BOM is made up of two parts:

  • LIST OF GROUPS (i.e. a list of all the primary or MAIN GROUPS that make up the configuration of vehicle)
  • COMPOSITION OF GROUP (i.e. a list of all the components/items of each single group)

A list of the “obligatory” options for the Market and of the specific options requested by the customer is included on the first pages of the PBoM.
