Contractual warranty is our obligation to you the customer and means that we will warrant any parts which become defective due to faulty manufacture or materials within twelve months from the date that you took delivery of your vehicle. The part will be repaired or replaced (at Iveco Ltd's discretion) by any Iveco Distributor free of charge. For Daily models registered after 1st January 2002 and Daily Bus registered after 1st January 2005 the period of cover is 36 months.
Furthermore, Iveco Ltd warrants for an additional twelve months and unlimited mileage for EuroTech, EuroStar and EuroTrakker models driveline components as described on the list below. (This warranty is also applicable to Cargo and SuperCargo models but limited to 200,000kms from the warranty start date)
- In the engine - flywheel, oil pump, crankshaft and bearings, timing gears, camshaft, cam followers and rocker arms, valves and seats, pistons and rings, cylinder bores, connecting rods, turbocharger, cylinder head and gasket, cylinder block water pump assembly and fan.
- In the gearbox - main casing, gears, shafts, selectors and bearings.
- In the fuel system - automatic advance unit and fuel injections pump / injectors (calibration excluded)
- In the driveshaft - driveshaft, universal joints and center bearing.
- In the drive axles - differential housing, crown wheel and pinion, differential unit, half shafts and bearings, transfer box and hub reduction.
Some conditions which apply to contractual warranty (standard and driveline) are:
- The vehicle's plated weights must not have been exceeded.
- The vehicle must have been serviced in accordance with Iveco's recommendations detailed in the use and maintenance manual and programmed maintenance schedules
- The vehicle must not have become defective due to the fitting of parts not supplied or approved by Iveco.
- Bodies, Tyres or any other ancillary equipment are not covered by contractual warranty. The Tyre and or Body manufacturer will have their own policies for dealing with defects.
- The routine replacement of servicing items such as oil filters, wiper blades, clutch linings and brake linings which are subject to wear and tear are part of the normal cost of operating a vehicle and therefore not covered by contractual warranty. If however they failed as a result of a defect in the material or its manufacture then they will be covered by contractual warranty or indeed, if you have elected to purchase a CostCare Gold or Silver Dimensions package these items will be covered. The same applies to such items as brake adjustments, wheel balancing and headlamp alignment.
- Maintenance adjustments, leakage (oil, water and air) and failure of components due to normal wear and tear are excluded from contractual warranty.
- For the Daily 36 months Warranty, Batteries and Shock Absorbers are excluded in years 2 and 3.
In order to enhance contractual warranty you can purchase CostCare Diamond, Sapphire and Emerald Dimensions which extend the period of cover.
