Roadsafe UK is operating a new Iveco Eurocargo supplied by long-time supplier, North East Truck & Van (NETV), the country’s largest independent commercial vehicle distributor.
The specialist 12 tonne Iveco Eurocargo (ML120EL18S) features a bespoke Robinson alloy dropside body which accommodates a Somerford LPG thermo-plastic boiler and asphalt heater that is used to apply markings and anti-skid materials to road surfaces.
Powered by a 3.9 litre tector engine, the vehicle joins a six-strong line-up of Eurocargos previously supplied to Roadsafe UK by NETV’s northernmost dealership in Blaydon.
Les Thompson, Roadsafe UK Contracts Director, says: “When we started the company in 2005, the first purchase we made was an Iveco Eurocargo after searching the fleet lists for the best all-round performer. The Eurocargo is well suited to our fleet as it is such a versatile truck, offering maximum bodybuilding flexibility and with a proven record for reliability.
“As with all vehicle purchases, price and whole life costs are important and the package we get from Iveco and NETV is competitive. We have a policy of working with local companies and have found that NETV offers us a very good service, with the added benefit of being based on our doorstep,” he adds.
Finished in a bright yellow livery, this latest fleet addition will operate nationally across the UK and is expected to be on the road six days a week, covering up to 50,000 km a year.
It will remain on the fleet for up to five years and will be maintained by the Roadsafe team of engineers, using genuine Iveco parts supplied direct by NETV’s central stock of more than £1.8 million worth of parts.
